Trouble
on the Trail
This is another colorfull art print featuring
the grizzly bears and the cowboy. I found this in a newspaper
magazine The Star Weekly, Toronto, dated: January
31, 1949
Sizes I have found:
13 x 19 1/2 inches
From a 1946 painting titled: Trouble on the Trail
Oil on canvas, 28 x 38 inches
Printed below the picture:
Springtime in the Rockies is no reason for jubilation,
if a traveller meets a grizzly mother who has emerged from a
winter hide-out with twin cubs. The artist, O. Wieghorst, has
well named the above episode Trouble on the Trail,
and it is quite evident there is plenty of it. Both for the
trail rider and his mount handicapped by the packhorse having
broken loose. The drama of this sudden and embarrassing encounter
is well rendered by the painter and there is a very fine mountain
landscape as well.
